- 10 fried gluten balls
- 120gm peanut
- 10 cups water (for boiling peanuts)
- 250ml water (for cooking this dish)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- ½tbsp rock sugar
- 2 star anise
- Salt (to taste)
Method
- Wash peanuts then prepare a pot with 10 cups water. Boil water with high heat then place peanuts into pot, close lid and reduce to medium heat and cook for 2½ hours. After cooking completes, turn off the heat and let it rest for 2 hours. Drain peanuts after 2 hours.
- In a separate pot, bring some water to boil, and place gluten balls and cook until soft. Drain and set aside.
- Place peanuts, gluten ball and water (add now or later?) into inner pot. Select “Claypot” function and adjust timing to 1 hour and 10 minutes. Dish is ready to serve.
